KERIKERI THEATRE COMPANY PRESENTS
TWELFTH NIGHT
Summer Shakespeare at Kainui Vineyard 2021
Kerikeri Theatre Company proudly presents "Twelfth Night", by William Shakespeare for our 2021 Summer Shakespeare at Kainui Vineyard!
One of Shakespeare's most beloved plays, Twelfth Night is a romantic comedy that centers around twins (Viola and Sebastian), who are separated in a shipwreck. Viola disguises herself as a young man (Cesario) and finds work with Duke Orsino, who is in love with the beautiful Countess Olivia. When Olivia meets Cesario she falls in love with him, not realizing he is a young woman. Confusion and hilarity ensue!
Twelfth Night will be presented at Kainui Vineyard and Brewery, a beautiful open-air venue that has graciously invited us (for the third year in a row), to perform our 2021 Summer Shakespeare production.
General Admission tickets sell for just $35 per adult or $25 per student. Or, if you're making a real night of it, our 4 seater gazebos are available again but are extremely limited - so be sure to secure yours early!
The first recorded performance of Twelfth Night was in 1602! And here it is, after 419 years, alive and thriving in Kerikeri.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do I get my ticket once I've ordered?
Immediately after you order you will receive an email receipt from Paypal as well as an email from us that will contain your printable ticket. Simply print that email and bring it along with you to the performance. If you do not have a printer, or are unable to print your ticket for any reason, you can also display it at the door via a mobile device. All general admission and student tickets are good for any of the performances. Gazebos are date specific. Doors are at 6 PM and the show starts at 7 PM.
Are the performances still taking place if we are at level two?
Yes, as they say in theatre... the show must go on!
The government has stated that the current level two status will end on Wednesday the 17th (before opening night) and we will revert to level one. While this could change, the hope is that we will be back at level one by Thursday the 18th, and it will be business as usual.
IF we are still at level two for any of the shows, THE SHOW WILL STILL GO ON, however we will be following ALL of the government’s recommended safety protocols and limiting audience sizes to 100 with 1 metre distancing between groups. Fortunately this will be easy given the large amount of space and open air at Kainui Road Vineyard. We will also be asking guests to scan a QR code or sign in at the door. Per the government’s safety recommendations: masks are recommended, but not required.
If we are still at level two and do have to limit audiences sizes to 100, people will be allowed in on a first come first serve bases.
Should the situation change will post an update on our Facebook and Instagram pages, here on our website and on the FB event page, so be sure to follow us to stay tuned.
Do young children get in for free?
Children under 5 years old are free.
What happens if it rains?
If one or more shows are canceled due to bad weather then will will add an additional show on Sunday, the 28th of Feb. However, all tickets are general admission and can be used for any of the 8 performances. So if one performance is canceled due to bad weather you can use your existing ticket to attend any other performance. Fortunately, the current prediction is for clear skies.
Is the show family friendly?
Yes, Twelfth Night is family friendly. But please note that while children of all ages are very welcome, parental supervision is required so that we can create an environment that is not distracting for performers or the audience.
Do you offer refunds?
Unfortunately we are not able to offer refunds once a ticket has been reserved, unless the production is canceled or significantly postponed. However, if you are not able to attend, please feel free to contact us and we will try our best to assist you with selling the ticket.
What if I can't make the show but I've already bought a ticket? Can I change the date?
If you have a General Admission ticket, yes! GA tickets allow you entry to any one of the performances. If you have a Limited VIP Gazebo ticket, maybe. These tickets are incredibly limited and we are highly likely to sell out of these. Please get in touch with us to enquire info@kerikeritheatrecompany.com at least 48 hours prior to the performance.
Can I buy tickets at the door?
Yes, tickets will be available at the door, however you will save $5 on your tickets when you purchase in advance. The door price will be $40 for general admission and $30 for students.
Can I bring my own food or drink into the show?
You are welcome to bring your own food for a picnic, however no outside alcohol or beverages are allowed with the exception of sealed water bottles.
Will I be able to buy food and drinks?
Yes, beer and wine will be available to purchase from the bar before and during the performance. Food and non-alcoholic options will also be available.
