Season’s Greetings 2012

Season’s Greetings is a 1980 play by British playwright Alan Ayckbourn. It is a black, though often farcical, comedy about four days in the life of a dysfunctional family, starting on Christmas Eve and set in an average English suburban house.

The play’s Christmas setting in the Bunker household is established with Uncle Harvey watching television, and exploits its season hysterically when the bored housewife Belinda attempts to have sex with a visiting writer, only to set off the elaborate sound and light show that the ingenious husband Neville has rigged up on the Christmas tree.
