Billy Goes to War

This production, following the lives of a young Kiwi soldier and his family throughout the 1914-18 war was written and directed by David Crewe, and produced by Kim Bailey.

With a large cast of characters, lots of wartime songs, and great attention to detail, the play was timed to coincide with the Anzac Day commemorations marking 100 years since the end of the war. Every performance played to large audiences, many of whom were brought to tears by the sad scenes, and for the finale clouds of poppy petals fell down onto the stage.

With grateful thanks to all those who helped to make this production so special.
