We trust our actors, crew and wonderful audience members are keeping well. We thought it was high time for a little update from the committee.
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
A shaky start to 2020 has sadly meant the postponement of our big show The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. A lot of time and effort had already gone into this production and we are not willing to call it quits. LWW looks promising for July 2021 at The Turner Centre.
Actors, hold on to your scripts, your part will still be yours! Now you’ll have a bit more time to practise those lines! Stay tuned for further updates, we will be in touch with the cast again soon.
Summer Shakespeare 2021 at Kainui
It’s happening! This will be our third year in a row of Summer Shakespeare at Kainui. Kainui offers a special open-air atmosphere for patrons to enjoy these fabulous classic plays and a good challenge for the cast and crew as we negotiate around the elements! Our last two shows were incredibly successful and so much fun for all, we can’t wait for round three.
Auditions will be held in October. We will put up more info about these when we get closer to the date.
…But wait, there’s more! We are working hard behind the scenes to get some smaller productions on the go. Under Level 2 restrictions, we have the opportunity to entertain groups less than 100 people and hopefully more as restrictions are lessened in the near future.
One Act Plays
After last year’s highly successful One Act Play’s we are going to do it again! This August we have ‘A Season of Short Plays’: two by Harold Pinter, one by Peter Shaffer, and a Revue.
Auditions are scheduled for Friday 5th June, 6pm at our Studio (17 Sammaree Place, Kerikeri). So, if you are hoping to get your acting pants on or can’t wait to enjoy some wonderful local theatre, keep an eye on our website and Facebook page for further details.
Youth Theatre
Willi Henley’s popular Youth Theatre Classes are back! Pop over here https://www.kerikeritheatrecompany.com/youth-theatre for further deets and to get in touch.
Lots of other fun things are coming up, we will be sure to keep you up to date with happenings as they unfold!
Please be aware that things may look a little different at the Studio for the next little while, owing to Covid 19 restrictions.
We can’t wait to pull the curtain back up for the Kerikeri Theatre Company.
Thank you for your continued support.
See you all soon!
