This year’s season will consist of four one-act comedies that are sure to delight audiences:

'Black Comedy' by Peter Shaffer - 13, 14, & 15 of August

Lovesick and desperate, sculptor Brindsley Miller has embellished his apartment with furniture and art that is "borrowed" from the absent antique collector next door to impress his fiancée’s pompous father and a wealthy art dealer. But when a fuse blows, hilarity ensues and Brindsley frantically attempts to return the stolen items before light is restored.

'The Lover' by Harold Pinter - 27, 28, & 29 of August

Richard and Sarah have created fictional lovers, Max and Sarah. They indulge in erotic wish fulfillment and thus keep the marriage refreshed. Then Richard begins to upset the status quo by refusing to allow the distinct halves of their relationship to remain separate. The afternoons have been for Max, the evenings for Richard. This evening, Max encroaches on Richard's preserves.

'Time Of Our Lives' by John Cundill - 10, 11, & 12 of September

A comedy about Eddie and Trish who are a long-time married couple approaching retirement age. They have blown all their savings on travel and the good life, and rather than face the prospect of old age on a pension, they have now followed through on their exit strategy. They've arrived at the pearly gates...or have they?

'Clara's on the Curtains!' by Arthur Lovegrove – 22, 23, & 24 of October

The curtain is about to go up on the Women's Guild variety and dramatic show when one of the leads loses her voice. This is the start of a series of calamities, not lessened by well-meant, but embarrassing offers of help.

The bar opens at 6 PM, and the show begins at 7 PM for each event.

The Black Box Theatre is located at 17 Sammaree Place, Kerikeri, at the Kerikeri Theatre Company studio.
